13 November 2014 Dear Parent/Carer I would like to thank all parents who attended Monday’s Parent Drop-in Evening at school for Year 8 and 9 students. These occasions offer a valuable opportunity for parents to remain updated concerning student progress. There are a number of other important dates I would like to draw your attention to: Children in Need – Friday, 14 November – Own Clothes Day To help raise funds toward this year’s Children in Need we are inviting pupils to come to school dressed in a primary colour – either red, yellow or blue and, if possible, to wear something spotty. Please note: students are not to wear football shirts or onesies. We ask each student to bring £1 and all proceeds will be sent to the Children in Need appeal. Any students not taking part will be required to attend school in their full school uniform. SCHOOL CLOSED – FRIDAY, 5 DECEMBER Please note that school will be closed on the above day. Town Nativity You may be interested to know that some ACS students will be taking part in the Town Nativity this year which will start at 6.00pm on Friday, 5 December. Christmas Eucharist Assembly The Christmas Eucharist Assembly will take place on Friday, 12 December between 2.00-3.00pm. We warmly invite all parents/carers to attend this special occasion if you can. Graduation Disco – Thursday, 18 December There will be a Graduation Disco for all students who have fulfilled their graduation targets for the Autumn Term. Invitations will be sent out nearer the event. Christmas Break Please note that school will finish at 12.00pm on the last day of term Friday, 19 December. School re-opens on Wednesday, 7 January 2015 at the usual start time of 8.30am. Parents’ Evenings 2015 Below are the dates for future Parents’ Evenings so you can make a note of them: Monday, 2 February Year 9 Options Evening – parents and students are invited to attend an information evening regarding options Monday, 9 February Year 9 Parents’ Evening including distribution of reports and an opportunity for parents and students to discuss their option choices Monday, 16 March Year 8 Parents’ Evening including distribution of reports Yours faithfully Elizabeth Haddock PRINCIPAL
